Bioforcetech Hits 50 BioDryer Milestone!

Bioforcetech,  a San Francisco-based leader in waste transformation and carbon-negative solutions, is celebrating a major milestone in its mission to revolutionize biosolids management: 50 BioDryers have been purchased and deployed since the company’s first installation eight years ago. The first three BioDryers were installed in 2017 in Redwood City. Today, Bioforcetech is set to process 50,000 tons of biosolids per year at 30% of the industry average energy demand—a game-changing achievement for sustainability and resource recovery.

The rapid adoption of Bioforcetech’s technology reflects a growing shift as cities, utilities, and industries embrace innovative solutions that reduce the mass of biosolids without the costly and emissive energy burden.

“We are very proud of this achievement. Hitting the 50 BioDryer milestone is a testament to the growing demand for sustainable waste solutions,” said Dario Prezessi, CEO of Bioforcetech. “This isn’t just about processing biosolids—it’s about transforming an industry and showing that our biological approach makes for a true energy solution.”

Biofrocetech’s BioDryers are also outperforming their initial specifications. Their BioDryer technology can deliver dry solids at 30% of the energy load customarily required when using standard thermal drying methods. BioDryers operating in the US this year have been working around the clock to dry both undigested and digested biosolids from 17%  solids to as high as 90%.

About OurCarbon

Divert Waste. Fix Carbon. Change Industry.

OurCarbon® is a sustainable, fixed-carbon material created from organic waste that would otherwise contribute to environmental harm. Made through Bioforcetech’s patented pyrolysis technology, OurCarbon diverts waste from landfills, transforms it at net-zero energy, and applies it in beneficial ways—preventing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based materials. OurCarbon is used to achieve low carbon structural concrete and replace petroleum-based black pigments in screen printing, polymers, paints, fabric dyes, and more. By repurposing waste into valuable materials, OurCarbon is pioneering a circular, climate-positive approach to sustainability.
